Partner in Demarest's Banking and Finance practice area, Marcus Fonseca holds a master's degree in Business Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-SP), a postgraduate degree in Corporate Law from the same institution and a bachelor's degree in Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC-PR). He concentrates his practice on matters involving payment methods, fintechs, blockchain, virtual assets, crowdfunding, open finance and the regulatory sandbox, as well as the development of new structures and business models. Marcus also advises clients on corporate finance transactions and financing of Brazilian and international projects. He advises underwriters and issuers on public offerings of securities, foreign exchange transactions, derivatives, fund formation, and financial institutions' compliance with relevant rules and regulations. - Advised foreign banks on a syndicated loan of EUR 1.5 million to a multinational company in the rolling mill and recycling sector.
- Advised a large Italian technology company on the issuance of bonds and external financing for a total amount of EUR 160 million.
- Advised a multilateral development bank on financing transactions for Brazilian companies to foster innovation and sustainability in the Amazon region for an aggregate amount of EUR 280 million.
