Partner in Demarest's Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Corporate, Private Equity and Venture Capital practice areas, Luciana holds a master’s degree (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School and a postgraduate degree from Harvard University's International Tax Program (ITP). Luciana was an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, New York, from 2000 to 2002. She is widely experienced in cross border and domestic M&A operations, representing Brazilian and international clients from numerous segments, such as chemical, pharmaceutical, health, automotive, technology, among others. Luciana has advised in highly complex transactions involving the purchase and sale of companies, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate reorganizations. She is currently a board member at Demarest and is the former head of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) area, which includes the Social Responsibility, Diversity and Inclusion and Pro Bono groups. Luciana is a member of the Board of the Brazilian Bar Association in the State of São Paulo (OAB SP), Senior Vice-Chair of the International Bar Association (IBA) Closely Held Companies Committee, member of the Executive Committee of the Harvard Law School Association, Co-Chair of the Harvard Law School Women's Alliance (Brazil Chapter), member of the Executive Board of Brazil’s Study Center for Law Firms (CESA), member of the "Lawyers Council for Civil and Economic Rights in the Americas" initiative, from the Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice, which is linked to the New York City Bar Association, and a Board member of the Institute for the Development of Social Investment (IDIS).   • Advised Paysafe in the acquisition of SafetyPay for USD 441 million.
  • Advised Bayer in the sale of Schering do Brasil (producer of hormonal balance products for women) for BRL 350 million.
  • Advised CyrusOne in the sale of Odata to Aligned Data Centers. Odata’s estimated market value was USD 1.8 billion at the time of the transaction. This transaction was awarded “M&A Deal of the Year” by Latin Lawyer in 2024.
  • Advised Softbank and Riverwood Capital in a funding round for Gupy, Brazilian human resources startup founded in 2015, for BRL 500 million.
  • Advised Ashland International Holdings LLC in the sale of its composites business in Brazil to Ineos Enterprises Group Ltd., as part of a global operation. The companies included in the operation have combined sales of more than USD 1.1 billion per year.
