Partner of Demarest’s Mergers and Acquisitions area, as well as head of the Asia Practice and co-head of the Ibero-American Practice of the firm, Gabriel Kuznietz holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (USA) and is admitted to practice law in both Brazil and in Argentina. He is specialized in the areas of Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Aviation and Maritime Law and Infrastructure. Among his main clients are aviation companies, vehicle assemblers, large multinationals and multilatinas, some of them operating in the maritime sector. Gabriel is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Vice-President of the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (Camarbra) and Vice-President of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) Aviation Committee.
- Advised SAAM, a Chilean publicly-held corporation, through its Brazilian subsidiary SAAM Towage Brasil, to acquire a total of twenty-one (21) tugboats from Starnav Serviços Marítimos, for the total amount of USD 198,000,000.00.
- Advised Mercado Livre (Mercado Envios) in the negotiation and execution of a long-term services agreement with Gol Linhas Aéreas, encompassing the dedicated operation of up to twelve aircrafts for the air cargo transportation of goods acquired in Mercado Livre’s e-commerce platform.
- Advised Virgin Orbit, which has been formally granted an operator’s license allowing LauncherOne to carry out launch operations in Brazil. The license was granted to Virgin Orbit Brasil (VOBRA), a newly formed and wholly-owned Brazilian subsidiary dedicated to bringing the LauncherOne air-launch rocket system to the Alcântara Launch Center (Centro de Lançamento de Alcântara, CLA).— Advised Mitsui & Co. and Mitsui & Co. (Brazil) in the sale of Mitsui Alimentos (Mitsui Brasil) to Café Três Corações (3C) for the amount of R$ 217 million.
- Advised Novared Chile in the acquisition of the equity interest held by its partner, Etek International Corporation, in the capital stock of Etek Novared Brasil, representing 50% of the capital stock of such company. With the transaction, Novared Chile now holds 100% of the capital stock of Etek Novared Brasil.
- Advised Syngenta Comercial Agrícola in the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of Dipagro and Vipagro, companies in the sector of trade of industrial materials and inputs, agrochemicals, seeds and fertilizers, grains, among other products and services.
