Demarest announces promotion of four new partners

The professionals promoted stand out for their professional excellence and for more than 15 years of work dedicated to the firm
Demarest Advogados announces the promotion of four new partners as of January 1, 2021: Cesar Rossi (Civil Litigation), Bruna Toledo Pacheco and Daniel Caramaschi (Mergers and Acquisitions) and Thiago Abiatar Lopes Amaral (Tax). The promotions meet the technical criteria of excellence in the rendering of services, valuing talent, and are in line with the new three-year Strategic Plan of the firm, focusing on areas considered to be strategic by the managing team.
“Investing in ‘homegrown’ professionals is to validate and acknowledge those who dedicate themselves to the organization on a daily basis”, highlights Paulo Coelho da Rocha, Demarest’s Managing Partner. The four new partners have been working at Demarest for more than 15 years.
“It is very gratifying to follow the growth of our professionals. Like me, they have developed and evolved at Demarest from the very beginning of their careers. This successful career path reflects the quality and excellence that we seek in our professionals to deliver valuable legal solutions to our clients” adds Rocha, who joined the firm in 1993, at the time as an intern in his final year of law school.

Bruna Toledo Pacheco
Ms. Pacheco holds an LL.M. in American Law from Boston University (USA), with Certificate of Concentration in “International Business Practice”, a specialization qualification in Business Law from FGV-SP, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). Her main clients include large national and international companies, mainly related to agribusiness.
Cesar Rossi
Mr. Rossi holds a master’s degree in Litigation, Arbitration and ADR (alternative dispute resolution) from Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris 2), as well as a bachelor’s degree in Law from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie. He concentrates his practice in litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution methods. In addition to conducting numerous lawsuits and arbitration disputes, in matters involving contracts, civil liability, environmental law, industrial property and administrative law, Mr. Rossi is a qualified mediator who also advises local and foreign clients in preventive and pre-litigation situations.
Daniel Caramaschi
Mr. Caramaschi holds an LL.M. in Corporate Law from Insper, an MBA in Business Law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), a post-graduate degree in Tax Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Campinas (PUC-Campinas), and a bachelor’s degree in Law from Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de São Francisco (USF). With extensive experience in the corporate and mergers and acquisitions areas, he works for national and international companies in transactions involving sectors such as plastic and carton packaging, tool manufacturers and technology and biotechnology companies.
Thiago Abiatar Lopes Amaral
Mr. Amaral holds an LL.M., with honors, in Law from Northwestern University Pritzker School Law, Chicago (USA), an LLM in Tax Law from Insper, a specialization in Tax Law from PUC-SP, and a bachelor’s degree in law from Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas (FMU). He regularly advises large and medium-sized companies in tax litigation and in the advisory area with an emphasis on indirect taxes, serving clients from diversified industries.
