Timeline – summary of the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) activities

The National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) was created by Provisional Measure No. 869 of 2018, which was later converted into Law No. 13,853/19.

Subsequently, Decree No. 10,474/2020 approved the Organizational Structure and the Demonstrative Chart of Positions in Commission and Trust Functions of the ANPD.

After the appointment of the ANPD’s Director-President in November 2020, the ANPD effectively began its activities.
